RE: Pursuit of Poker Success. I hate leaving negative review because I admire authors so much. I have to say I hated the format of this book. It would have been OK if the author had just let the subjects tell their stories, but he had to needlessly insinuate himself into the narrative every couple of paragraphs. he either tells you what the subject is going to tell you, or what he just told you.
"Bosco didn't let growing up in a rough neighborhood stop him. He kept pushing on..."
BOSCO: "I didn't let growing up in a rough neighborhood stop me..."
this might work for a newspaper feature, but in a book it is just disruptive and annoying. The stories mostly lacked depth and nuance.
It is one of the few books I have ever purchased that I just couldn't finish.

Alex's book is excellent. I hope not many people read it because it contains breakthrough stuff and I selfishly want to use it awhile before people start catching on. The book works best in conjunction with his other works including free podcasts, articles, newsletters.
OK, I've said too much already.

I just purchased Annie's book but haven't read it yet. It looks interesting.
