This week, the WSOP organizing body released the schedule for the 2026 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. The 2026 WSOP will run from May 26th to July 15th and will include a full 100 bracelet events. For the fifth year in a row, the series will be split between the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
2026 WSOP Schedule
The 2026 WSOP begins with a $500 Buy-in “Mini Mystery Millions” event. This event is in the style of the popular Mystery Bounty events. It will have six Day 1 Flights, a top bounty of $1 Million, and a guaranteed 1st place prize of “at least” $1 Million. What a great way to kick off the action!
This year’s WSOP Main Event is going back to the past. Main Event play will begin on July 2nd and encompass a total of four flights this year. The action will play down to the final table on July 13th, and then take a break before final table play commences. WSOP organizers are being cagey as to what date Main Event play will resume, but this decision is feeling very reminiscent of the old days of the November 9.
As some of you may recall, the last November 9 ran in 2016, when our very own Steve Blay used APT’s powerful algorithm to successfully predict the winner. Steve also played an advisory role to the 2016 Champion Qui Nguyen. Starting in 2017, Main Event Final tables have completed in July during the regular run of the WSOP. We don’t know about you, but we are very excited to see how this delayed final table runs out.
2026 WSOP Daily Livestream
Another exciting development for those of us who can’t make it to Las Vegas for the action this summer is a new daily livestream. The WSOP will be hosting its own livestream on its YouTube channel, and best of all – it’s free! They have even hired announcer Jeff Platt away from PokerGo to participate in the process. Now, if only we could get an edited Main Event broadcast package again, my Main Event watching desires would be complete.
New Events
As usual, the WSOP is adding some new events this summer. There will be a $10k buy-in GGMillions High Roller Event starting May 31st. Also, a new 5-card Pot Limit Omaha event and a Circuit Championship Event. The WSOP is also adding a “Pick Your PLO”, Dealers Choice event. Participants can call for PLO, PLO8, Five-Card PLO (High), and Big O. This event starts on July 9th.
Of course, player favorites will also return. The Seniors Tournament starts on June 15th. Fan Favorite PLO Double Board Bomb Pot makes a return on July 2. And the Colossus begins on June 10th, with a buy-in of $500.
Conspicuously missing this year are any bargain events. The Colossus at $500 is the lowest buy-in of the series. The days of $200 and $300 buy-in events are apparently, sadly, behind us.
Practice for the 2026 WSOP on Advanced Poker Training
Don’t forget that at APT, our multi-table tournament simulator will help you get ready for any event you want to play this summer at the 2026 WSOP. And if you are pondering a run at the WSOP Main Event, we offer a main event trainer that you can use to prepare for that multi-million dollar payday! Simply select MTT from the games, and under type select “Las Vegas Main Event”. Hope to see you in Las Vegas this summer!
