Hi:
I have noticed that when a player next in line to be the Small Blind is knocked out, instead of a "dead" small blind, the SB is moved to the next player, who as a result has their Big Blind skipped. So, that player misses a Big Blind. This can be critical at end of tournament.
Thanks....JoeP

Hi Joe,
We use the “Forward Moving Button Rule” (also just known as the moving button rule). This means that the button always advances, and there is never a dead button due to player elimination, even if this might cause a player to miss the big blind from time to time. It is seen more often online than in live cardrooms, and it eliminates some of the complications of the "Dead Button Rule" (where a player can never miss the big blind).
Even in cardrooms that use the Dead Button Rule, there are times when one player gets moved to another table and misses the big blind (or at least gets part of a rotation for free). And sometimes a table breaks and one player ends up practically paying the big blind twice in a row.
With both methods, in the long run it should all even out.
Steve
Thanks Steve for the explanation.....
